| Great site u got there. I'm from finland and I never heard of these balloons. Also in here the trashbags are much thicker. I founded some perfect bags today, but they are only 30 litres. I think this is more educational than fun if u make it by yourself! |

Hello Jon, I am a Ham radio operator of General Class (2nd most advanced class). Anyhow have you heard of APRS ? Thousands or Hams around the US would gladly put small GPS transmitters on your bag balloons. These objects are then tracked live on WebPages via APRS (i.e.google earth) software. Many ham clubs in the US would set up certain days (field day) where dozens of hams would track the bag to it's downed location. Some ham clubs are very active others are old dead beats. BTW NOAA has a balloon (particle tracking software program)

| Thanks for putting up such a informative website.. I found the right size bags, and made a 12 bag design that had lift even at 8 pm.. it's too bad it's a bit windy this time of the year. |

I tried many times to make a balloon, but I couldn't find the right trash bags; That's why I bought a... Giant EZ Tube!!! I can't wait, because its arriving in the mail tomorrow! Thanks for your sight... I would've never known about solar balloons if it weren't for your YouTube videos as well. |
